Most students who enter WHSB in Year 7 decide to stay with us for seven years, with the last two years spent in our lively co-educational Sixth Form. Each year, around 70 students from other schools join our Sixth Form.

The School takes great pride in the achievements and attitudes of its Sixth Form students. The results of public examinations are impressive; students go beyond a superficial understanding of concepts and often extend their learning beyond the syllabus. They actively participate in and lead various school events and clubs, which encompass academic, artistic, sporting, technical, social, and entrepreneurial activities. Additionally, students are deeply involved in supporting one another, mentoring younger members of the school, and engaging in meaningful community service.

In the Sixth Form, students experience increased independence and have access to specialised facilities. They enhance their leadership skills by taking on responsibilities and working with younger students. Through our enrichment programme, they make valuable contributions to the school community and the local area by volunteering their services. Many students demonstrate initiative by establishing clubs and societies for their peers and younger students. The Sixth Form plays a central role at WHSB, with a strong sense of community spirit at its core.

Students in the Sixth Form achieve at a remarkably high level academically. They dedicate themselves to subjects they enjoy, and their hard work pays off. Many go on to attend prestigious universities, including Oxford and Cambridge. Aspiration fuels motivation, and motivation leads to success.

Applications for entering the Sixth Form in 2027

The Sixth Form Open Evening will be hosted on Thursday 12 November 2026, from 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm. Visitors must register in advance here.

Application to the Sixth Form will be completed via an online admissions portal hosted by Applicaa, which will be made available on Monday 7 December 2026. It will remain open until the application deadline of 5 pm on Friday 29 January 2027. You can find a link to the online form and other admissions information on the Admissions page.
