WHSB's most successful year to date at the Warhammer National Schools Tournaments

2025 has been WHSB's most successful year to date at the Warhammer National Schools Tournaments with a total of seven podium places across two tournaments during the Summer Term.

Following our Sixth Form students' success at the Warhammer 40,000 National School Tournament in early July, our younger pupils did not disappoint in the subsequent annual Warhammer Age of Sigmar National School Tournament that took place at Warhammer World in Nottingham towards the end of last term.

Competing on a national stage against teams from schools throughout the country, eight pupils from WHSB took part. We congratulate James (now in Year 11) for winning the tournament, a remarkable achievement, and progression for him given that he came second in 2024 and third the year before that. In addition, James' Idoneth Deepkin Army won 'Best Painted Army' for the second year running. Congratulations also to fellow Year 11 pupils Max and Prajin, for achieving second and third place, respectively.

We would like to thank Mrs Lo-Whitford and Mr Mansfield for organising and ensuring the smooth running of the day.

Playing Warhammer offers cognitive benefits including improved strategy, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. It also offers a creative outlet through building and painting miniatures. Preparing for and competing in tournaments enables social interaction within a supportive community and teaches the valuable skills of fair play. WHSB's Wargaming Club, for those in Years 7 to 13, meets on Fridays after School and always welcomes new members.
