It’s Beginning to look a Lot Like a Centenary Christmas at Westcliff High School for Boys!

It’s Beginning to look a Lot Like a Centenary Christmas at WHSB

In celebration of Westcliff High School for Boys’ 100th festive season since opening its doors in 1920, alumni from the Old Westcliffian Association have supplied a magnificent ten feet high traditional Norwegian Pine fir tree to bring some festive cheer.

Staff, students and parents have been involved in making a multitude of decorations in the School’s colours, navy, red and gold.  The shining star for the top of the tree was designed by Upper Sixth Form Design and Technology A Level student, Adam Lunniss.  The tree will take pride of place on the stage in the School’s main hall until the end of term.

Headmaster Mike Skelly said: “We are very grateful to the Old Westcliffian Association for supplying such a magnificent tree in commemoration of the Centenary Year.   It is something for our School Community to enjoy given the difficult circumstances resulting from the pandemic which have resulted in the vast majority of the year’s planned events taking place online or being postponed.”

Second Deputy Head and Design and Technology Teacher Kerrie Mumford said: “Students from all year groups have worked together on this project.  The final result is an outstanding contribution to the School’s Centenary celebrations that have been able to take place this year.”
