Four Upper Sixth students completed the School’s first LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) Gold Medal Examinations

In March, four Upper Sixth students at WHSB completed the School’s first LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) Gold Medal Examinations. The LAMDA Gold Medal Award is the highest level (Grade 8 ) of nationally accredited performance assessment in acting, speaking verse and prose or public speaking. This prestigious qualification is equivalent to A-Level standard, showcasing advanced dramatic skill and earning valuable UCAS points.
In the Public Speaking category, Aaron and Aiden each achieved a Merit. Their assessment involved delivering prepared and spontaneous speeches, earning them 27 UCAS points each. Gabriel and Ethan received Distinctions in the Acting examination for their three prepared duologues and technical knowledge of theatrical practitioners. Notably, their performance of a scene from "The Shawshank Redemption" achieved a Distinction across every assessed criterion. This top-tier result earns them 30 UCAS points each.
We proud of all four students and congratulate them on these exceptional results. Our thanks to Mr Jeffreys, Director of Drama, and his team for their dedicated support in facilitating these awards.
